Welcome to aquatic ecology research group at the Institute of Marine Sciences, Middle East Technical University. We conduct research mainly on ecology of aquatic environment both for its biotic and abiotic components. Our major focus is the temporal and spatial change of the aquatic ecosystems and the natural communities living in them. We host an advanced experimental mesocosm facility that enables us to conduct ecosystem level experiments and also in-situ coastal (marine) mesocosms for climate change experiments on littoral communities. We also conduct field observations on various aquatic ecosystems spanning from coastal wetlands to alpine lakes.
